A Shockingly Cheeky Friendship! (Japanese: ピカチュウとデデンネ！ほっぺすりすり！！ Pikachu and Dedenne! Cheek Rub!!) is the 805th episode of the Pokémon anime series. In this episode, Ash, Clemont, and Bonnie, continue their way to Santalune City when they run into Dedenne again.
Summary[]
The episode begins where the previous episoe left off: Serena choosing her first Pokémon from Professor Sycamore. Professor Sycamore gives Serena a Pokédex and presented before her are the three starter Pokémon she can get in Kalos: Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie. After thinking it over for a little bit, she decides on Fennekin as her partner. The scene then transitions over to Ash, Clemont and Bonnie where Bonnie is seen petting Pikachu's tail, which Ash explains that he likes it a lot. Ash then suggests that he feeds Pikachu and his newly caught Ash's Fletchling, which Bonnie is excited about. However, as soon as she brings out some Pokémon food, a Dedenne appears, steals the food from Bonnie's hand, and goes up a tree to eat it. They soon recongize that Dedenne as the one that got away in the previous episode. Bonnie then reminds Clemont that she still wants that Dedenne, but before he can catch it, Dedenne runs off and the three of them chase after it.
Shortly after it began running off, Dedenne jumps in and out of various holes in the ground, attempting to trick and fool the trio. They try to get Dedenne, but Clemont accidentally picks up Pikachu instead and out of surprise, shocks Clemont. Pikachu then continues his search underground and finds Dedenne. After cornering it, Pikachu tackles the Dedenne, resulting in them taking another tunnel that leads to a hole on the side of a cliff, sending the two Pokémon falling down. After landing, Dedenne tries to run away and Pikachu sticks to it. Team Rocket notices the two Pokémon and decide it is a good time to catch Pikachu since Ash, Clemont, and Bonnie are not close by.
The scene then switches back to the trio where Bonnie is still looking for Dedenne and Ash begins to worry about Pikachu. The viewers are then taken back to Pikachu and Dedenne where Pikachu gets a Sitrus Berry for Dedenne. Team Rocket then fires a net that barely misses the two Pokémon. Clemont sends out his Bunnelby to help search the tunnels for Pikachu. Ash sends his Fletchling out to search the area by sky. Team Rocket continues to chase after Pikachu and Dedenne and James sends out his Inkay for its first battle. Inkay uses Tackle against Dedenne, which sends both Piakchu and Dedenne into a river. Team Rocket continues to chase the two Pokémon by going in an inflatable boat, but shortly after hit a rock, popping the boat and blasting them off into the sky.
Ash's Fletchling finds Pikachu and Dedenne and they become reunited again. However, they see that Dedenne is weak and so Clemont uses one of his machines to recharge Dedenne, but he breaks one of the pieces causing the machine to exploud. The machine did give Dedenne enough energy and began to feel better. Team Rocket returns and begins to fight. Dedenne jumps into the fight and Clemont commands it. The Pokémon uses its Nuzzle attack on James' Inkay, paralyzing it. Pikachu and Dedenne then team up and attack Team Rocket with a burst of electricity, blasting them off into the sky again. Once Team Rocket is gone, Dedenne decides to go with Clemont and is caught by him. It is then sent back out where Bonnie greets it and asks it to use Nuzzle on her and it shocks her resulting in everyone laughing, including Bonnie.
The episode concludes with Serena and her Fennekin walking in the woods, looking for a Pokémon Center, when she runs into a wild Vespiquen that she mistakes for a human. Vespiquen begins to attack her, but her Fennekin chases it off with an Ember attack. Shortly after, Nurse Joy and her Wigglytuff arrive and escort Serena and Fennekin to the Pokémon Center they were looking for.
