Approving

Crimsonnavy I need help with the other episodes airing in Japan and Team Rocket's Pokemon.Jayman (talk) 03:15, 10 February 2013 (UTC)

Hello. What kind of help do you need? – Crimsonnavy T  S  09:53, 10 February 2013 (UTC)

Admin meeting on Skype

Hey there, I'd like to coordinate a time sometime this week or early next week (depending on availability) for active administrators of the Marriland Wiki to hop on Skype. This is detailed over on the Admin forum and we should use that topic to coordinate when the best time for this meeting is. Thanks! —Personal Image - MarrilandMarriland 21:59, 6 March 2013 (UTC)

Template Tweaking Needed?

Hey Crimson! I was trying to add Black 2 and White 2 game locations on the Pokémon's respective pages when I noticed that in the Template:Game Locations template, when you use black2white2, it ends up making the "2" of "white 2" go on it's own line. It kind of looks a little messy and I didn't want to edit the template, as I am new and I haven't used templates/wikis in about a year or so. An example of what I mean is here on the Victini#Game locations page. However, not all B2/W2 locations do that, some look fine. Thanks! Rahfal (talk) 21:40, 30 June 2013 (UTC)

Hello. I widened the template a bit, so it should look fine now. – Crimsonnavy T  S  02:43, 1 July 2013 (UTC)
Ok, thanks! Rahfal (talk) 02:51, 1 July 2013 (UTC)

Rarity vs. Rate of Pokemon in Black 2 and White 2

While adding the Pokédex entries, I was also trying to add locations, based off from Marriland's Pokédex information. However, there are percentages used there instead of "Common" and such. When looking at some pages on this wiki I noticed that for Black 2 and White 2 we use percentages here as well instead of words like "Common." What would be the best way of handling this task for a Pokémon's rarity (in terms of their locations) in Black 2 and White 2? Thanks! Rahfal (talk) 22:28, 30 June 2013 (UTC)

I'd say just use the percentage, it's more descriptive than common, uncommon, etc. anyway. – Crimsonnavy T  S  02:43, 1 July 2013 (UTC)
I was thinking of using percentages, however different routes provide different percentages. If I was to use common, uncommon, etc. what would be a general "rule of thumb" to go by if I based it off of general availability of a particular Pokémon. Also, what are the phrases do we use here for describing rarity (such as common, uncommon, and rare)? Thanks! Rahfal (talk) 02:51, 1 July 2013 (UTC)
I'd say 0% = none, 1% to 20% = rare, 21% to 50% = Uncommon and 51% to 100% would be common. I've never really thought of the rarity-to-rate to be honest. I think we use None, Rare, Uncommon and Common. Hope that helped. – Crimsonnavy T  S  03:01, 1 July 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, it kind of confused me for a little bit today. Thanks for the help and clarifications! Rahfal (talk) 03:03, 1 July 2013 (UTC)

To add further to this discussion, I have been thinking about this more. What if instead of using common, uncommon, and rare to describe their rarity, we just create a template or table that lists the locations in one row, the percentage rate, and whether or not it is in Black 2 or White 2 or both? The B2W2 differention could be that the cell is colored in if it appears in B2 and/or W2. Also, we could add what seasons its available in, if applicable, and other useful information. This would give a detailed way to show where a Pokémon is located instead of listing routes, because as of right now, we don't know what version(s) that route is applicable for nor do we know what version is being referred to. All of what I said is already located at Marriland's Pokédex entries for Black 2 and White 2, however. Rahfal (talk) 00:27, 2 July 2013 (UTC)

I'll come up with something this weekend, I'm too busy right now to make it. – Crimsonnavy T  S  23:21, 4 July 2013 (UTC)

Delete An Image/Page?

When I was trying to reupload a current file with an image that's more appropriate, it seems to not want to use the new image, but rather the old one still. Am I doing something incorrect or is there something buggy? If so, would you mind deleting the BW111.png file so that I can upload the proper one? Thanks! Rahfal (talk) 21:47, 6 July 2013 (UTC)

Do you still want it deleted? It has a second image uploaded over the old one, the new one has N holding his cap on walking down stairs. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Crimsonnavy (talkcontribs)
My mistake, it appears it was acting up due to a cookies issue on my part; once I cleared my cookies it was fine. I'll remember to do that in the future. Thanks! Rahfal (talk) 12:46, 7 July 2013 (UTC)
Can you delete this page for me? Whoever created it used the wrong episode name and therefore the redirect it's used for is now useless: Here Comes The Squirtle Squad. Thanks! Rahfal (talk) 22:46, 14 July 2013 (UTC)
I reuploaded a better quality image and had it take a better name. The old image therefore is no longer being used anywhere on the wiki, so can it be deleted? File:Tentacruel attack.jpg. Thanks! Rahfal (talk) 01:25, 15 July 2013 (UTC)

Hey, I accidentally uploaded some files with an incorrect name tyop in them. I moved all the pages, but with one of them I forgot to remove the redirect to it. Can you please delete that incorrect redirect page? It is located here. Thanks! Rahfal (talk) 19:51, 2 September 2013 (UTC)

Done, but in the future, you can add the {{delete}} template to the page, I try to watch for those even if I'm not going to edit on that particular day. – Crimsonnavy T  S  08:42, 3 September 2013 (UTC)

Deleting Two Incorrectly-Typed Pages Please?

When I was creating the anime episode pages, there was one where I forgot the exclamation point in the title. So, I need the bad one deleted and same with it's bad redirecting page: BW116: Saving Braviary and Saving Braviary (second one is the redirect). Thanks! Rahfal (talk) 22:38, 7 July 2013 (UTC)

Couple of questions

Sorry to bother you, but I have a couple questions. First of all, is Marriland active here nowadays? How big a of an attraction is the wiki going to be? Will it be the "main" component of the site (aside from the forums, Marriland's YT, etc.) like Bulbapedia is to Bulbagarden? As well, how closely tied are Marriland Wiki and Marriland/Marriland forums? e.g., are staff on one always staff on the other? Is Marriland (or other staff members) going to try to promote this wiki at all? Thanks! --Lugiafanatic (talk) 15:23, 13 July 2013 (UTC)

Hello and welcome, you can ask me a question any time you want, I try to get back as soon as I can.
  1. I think Marriland himself is sort of busy to come here nowadays, but he pops in on the skype group now and then.
  2. The wiki is intended to be more of a resource, so it's supposed to be closely grouped with the main site and forums. When we first moved the wiki, several users from the forums and such were urged to make an account here, but I suppose they forgot to come back :p
  3. I think the wiki sort of fell out of the spotlight due to inactivity, I am the only really recurring editor right now that's older than a month. – Crimsonnavy T  S  15:37, 13 July 2013 (UTC)

Too Many Links Displaying?

I've been noticing lately that if there are too many links (or more specifically, similar link names) those links stop being displayed? A couple examples of what I mean can be found on the Absorb and Template:Pokémon: Best Wishes! pages. The first link, if you scroll down enough, the typing won't show if it's been used too much and on the second page the episode links stop at only 110 and won't go any farther. Is there a way you can increase the allowed amount? Thanks! Rahfal (talk) 17:37, 13 July 2013 (UTC)

The first one has one too many vertical bars, it's turning white because the type section is considered blank and the second one is messed up because the template is for some reason only taking "|" instead of "|", I fixed that one for you. – Crimsonnavy T  S  18:26, 13 July 2013 (UTC)
I'm still having some difficulty getting repeated images to display. If you look at the recently updated Fairy Pokémon page, the last row of weakness and resistance types do not show their image and the cell is white. Any idea as to why this is, besides the previously mentioned (unless I'm doing something wrong)? Thanks! Rahfal (talk) 19:12, 11 September 2013 (UTC)

Skype Chat

Hello, Crimsonnavy. This is MichaelXD. Could we have a Skype chat so I can explain my story from here? I want to know what can be done about any ban reason or message I've received. My Skype is michaelxd001. If you see this, respond quickly because we won't have time in the morning. Please help. (MichaelLOL (talk) 09:03, 27 July 2013 (UTC))

Hello, if you're talking about problems at the forums, I can't help you, I don't have any powers there, and I've been told the ban has been explained to you. – Crimsonnavy T  S  13:05, 27 July 2013 (UTC)

But I do believe I had a false ban reason, and I'm seeing what I can do. I was thinking you were that admin with a Delibird avatar. I hope I didn't mistake you for someone else. (MichaelLOL (talk) 13:32, 27 July 2013 (UTC))

That is my account, but I have a "Staff" tag, which comes from me being an admin on the wiki. I don't have banning powers on the forums, only moderators and such have those powers. Although, I don't use any forums often, so I'm not certain on how the forums work. – Crimsonnavy T  S  13:52, 27 July 2013 (UTC)

Ok, but someone must know the truth on what happened. I never lie so please help me God! Who can I explain this to? (MichaelLOL (talk) 13:54, 27 July 2013 (UTC))

I can't help you with that, sorry. You'll have to try somewhere else, most users on the wiki can't help you with offsite bans. – Crimsonnavy T  S  14:01, 27 July 2013 (UTC)

You mean bans not from the wiki? Boy! I'd better stop before I get banned. (MichaelLOL (talk) 14:07, 27 July 2013 (UTC))

Hi

Hey, it's been a while. Really lonely around here ಠ◡ಠ

Vandals don't even show up anymore. Chaos 21:38, 30 July 2013 (UTC)

Hey, it has been a while. Yeah, it is quiet around here since we disabled anonymous editing. – Crimsonnavy T  S  12:06, 31 July 2013 (UTC)
We can always turn it back on! -- Wynthyst Personal image-Wynthyst sig talk 21:02, 24 August 2013 (UTC)
I don't see any harm in turning it back on, due to the lack of activity around here. Maybe it'll get some more edits going on :). Rahfal (talk) 22:27, 26 August 2013 (UTC)
I wouldn't be opposed to re-enabling the anonymous editing. I guess we can always ask for it to be disabled again if the vandalism gets bad again. – Crimsonnavy T  S  08:42, 3 September 2013 (UTC)

AnimeCharacter Template Updating

Hey there! I was working on adding anime characters from the Decolore Islands, which is the latest anime series: Pokémon: BW Adventures in Unova and Beyond. However, when I enter in the region as "Decolore Islands" it messes up the template. I've entered in Unova for now, so the template looks good, but I was wondering if you could add it so when I type Decolore Islands it would give a background and border of blue (and shades of blue) to fit the theme of the season. I tried to do this myself, but noticed that the page is locked to prevent editing as it could possibly affect many pages if done incorrectly or without thought. Thanks! Rahfal (talk) 22:32, 2 September 2013 (UTC)

I changed the regional color templates for Decolore Islands. I used the water color as the basis, is it acceptable? – Crimsonnavy T  S  08:42, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
This is fine, thank you! Rahfal (talk) 16:33, 3 September 2013 (UTC)

Type chart template question

I have created a template to use for the 19 different type charts for the certain types of Pokémon. An example of my work can be found on Fairy Pokémon. I'm quite pleased with the result, however my footer I believe could use some work. The reason I say that is if you go to Template:Type chart footer, you will see that I am using the {{type chart key}} template inside of it. It looks fairly nice in my end result of the Fairy page, but I am trying to remember how to do what the key template does and put it into the footer template; thus getting rid of the use of the key template alltogether (it makes the page look worse if the key and table are separate on the same page instead of together). The things I have tried resulted in my added wiki code being displayed as text. Any ideas on how to do this? Thanks! Rahfal (talk) 22:36, 13 September 2013 (UTC)

Did you mean that you wanted the contents of the key template on the footer without using the template itself? – Crimsonnavy T  S  01:01, 14 September 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, that's what I mean, sorry for the bad wording on my part, haha. Rahfal (talk) 01:46, 14 September 2013 (UTC)
I added the table to the template, so it should work the same. – Crimsonnavy T  S  02:53, 14 September 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, I was missing something obvious that for some reason my mind wasn't thinking of at the time :P. I adjusted it slightly so that the boxes are aligned properly, thanks for the help! Now I think my template is complete. If you notice anything that needs tweaking or fixing, feel free to edit it! Rahfal (talk) 03:10, 14 September 2013 (UTC)

I'm wondering if they should all be left aligned instead of centered? My thoughts behind it is that I want to work on making templates for the rest of the type pages, such as for the abilities of that type and the Pokémon of that type. It would seem weird, at least to me, to have everything on the page be centered, or even just that? Is it to be consistent with other pages? Just trying to figure it out :). Rahfal (talk) 05:22, 14 September 2013 (UTC)

Do you mean the table itself or the text? The table? – Crimsonnavy T  S  18:05, 14 September 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, I mean the table itself. The text I believe should be centered, but the table possibly not. It doesn't look bad centered, I'm just wondering how it'll look once the other templates are made (to make the pages look nicer than simple html tables or bulleted lists). Rahfal (talk) 20:57, 14 September 2013 (UTC)
I personally like the centered look, but when they aren't the same width as other templates, it tends to look nonuniform. So I would say align to the left for now, we could always change it later. – Crimsonnavy T  S  15:25, 15 September 2013 (UTC)

I was wondering, is there a reason as to why the Marriland logo is now replaced by The Pokémon Wiki's? Thanks! Rahfal (talk) 22:42, 25 September 2013 (UTC)

Looks like there was just a glitch during an update, somehow causing an old file to be set as the wiki logo in the backend settings. I've hidden it as the current logo is set up in the CSS anyway. oOeyes Personal Image - oOeyes 00:14, 26 September 2013 (UTC)
Sounds good, thank for the help and clarification! Weird things like that happen sometimes :P Rahfal (talk) 01:05, 26 September 2013 (UTC)
