Plot Overview
Ruby and Sapphire Chapter
He first appeared in the cave at Dewford when he helped Ruby. Afterwards, he asked Ruby if he could help him in a 'crisis' that would happen in Hoenn, but he was too young and Ruby stated that he wasn't that good at battling. And Steven stated "I see..." implying that Steven knows Ruby's potential. Afterwards he goes on and tries to cover the damage that Kyogre and Groudon has done by summoning Regice, Registeel, and Regirock, but at the cost of his own life. Before he died he gave Wallace the champion title and cape. But with Ruby's Celebi, Ruby was able to enter a time slip and change what happened and in the end, Steven is still alive.
Platinum Chapter
When Platinum arrived to the battle frontier, he was briefly seen leaving his villa and calling his father about collecting the stones he wanted and is about to go home. Platinum is staying at the same villa on where he stayed.
