Spiky-eared Pichu (ギザみみピチュー Gizamimi Pichu) is a female Pichu from the past that was bought to our time by Celebi's time traveling powers. She first appeared in Arceus and the Jewel of Life. She also appeared in Get Fired up, Spiky-eared Pichu!, the fourth ending song of the Diamond & Pearl series. She loves Grepa Berries. Her name in Japanese means Notch-eared Pichu.

She is set to reappear in the Pikachu short airing with the 15th Pokémon movie.

HeartGold and SoulSilver[]

She appears only in HeartGold and SoulSilver. From January 30th to Febuary 14th, 2010 (North America), you could download a special Shiny Pichu (the Pikachu-colored Pichu) at participating GameStop stores in the U.S. Upon taking Pikachu-colored Pichu to the Ilex Forest after trading it to HeartGold or SoulSilver, it triggers an event featuring Spiky-eared Pichu, after which you receive Spiky-eared Pichu, assuming you have room in your party.

Its initial moves are Volt Tackle, Helping Hand, Swagger and Pain Split, but it learns the same moves as any normal Pichu. Spiky-eared Pichu cannot evolve, nor can it be traded or transferred to any other version, including to Generation V games.
