Smelling Salt is a Normal-type move first introduced in Generation III games. Prior to Generation VI, this move was known as SmellingSalt. When used against a paralyzed opponent, this attack does double the damage. This results in the inflicted Pokémon being cured of its paralysis.

The foe is hit with a watery blast. The user must rest on the next turn, however.

Contests[]

Shocks the Pokémon which went forward prior to the Trainer's Pokémon.

Raises maximum score if the voltage for a particular Judge is minimal.
