Serena Naosaga (Japanese: 治性セレナ Serena Naosaga) is a Japanese female traveling companion of Satoshi who first appeared in the episode Kalos, Where Dreams and Adventures Begin!.

Character

She is a trainer from the Kalos Region in Japan. Her outfit resembles a Japanese girls' school uniform.

She now currently lives in Ōmiya-ku, Saitama-shi, Saitama-ken, Japan.

Pokémon

Fennekin Fennekin made its first appearance in A Battle of Aerial Mobility! and in the following episode, was chosen by Serena out of the three starter Pokémon given out by Professor Sycamore. It acts very similar to it's trainer, Serena, in that it will mimic movements and actions she does. Fennekin also pays close attention to its appearance and gets upset when its appearance isn't as good as it should be. Again, showing the similarity between Fennekin and Serena.

• Her surname in Japanese 治 (なお) means calm and 性 (さが) means nature.
• It took seven (7) episodes for Serena to join Ash in his adventures. This is the longest time it has taken for a traveling companion to join Ash.
• Serena is the first female traveling companion of Ash to not get her or her bike shocked by Pikachu.
• Serena is the first character to be invited by Ash to join him on his adventures.
• Serena is the first of all of Ash's friends to meet him prior to joining him on his adventures.
• Serena is a fan of the anime character Saitama from One Punch Man, albeit residing in Saitama.
