Phantom Force (Japanese: ゴーストダイブ Ghost Dive) is a Ghost-type move introduced in the Generation VI games, Pokémon X and Y.

Game info[]

Effect[]

In battle[]

Phantom Force allows the user to become semi-untargetable for that turn. The user then reappears the following turn, inflicting damage on the target selected on the previous turn. This move also bypasses and hits regardless if the targeted Pokémon used a move such as Protect, Detect, Spiky Shield, King's Shield, or Mat Block. If the targeted Pokémon used Mat Block, it removes its effects from the field for the remainder of the turn. It also removes the effects of the moves Quick Guard, Wide Guard, and Crafty Shield from the targeted Pokémon's side of the field. The user does not receive the negative effects of shields or blocks from the targeted Pokémon, such as Spiky Shield or King's Shield.

This move never misses its target and doubles in power if the targeted Pokémon used the move Minimize.

If the user holds the item Power Herb, the move can be completed in one (1) turn instead of two (2). However, this consumes the item.

Outside of battle[]

Phantom Force has no affect outside of battle.

Description[]

Version(s) Description
