May (Japanese: ハルカ Haruka)is the female protagonist of Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald. If she is not selected as the player, she's your rival. She is also the female choice in the games.

The Generation III games deviated from the tradition of naming characters as their respective games, such as Red (Game) from Generation I and Generation II games. As such, May's counterparts include May from the anime and Sapphire from the Pokemon Adventures manga.

Appearance

In all games, May has semi-short brown hair and pale skin. Her build is also usually slender and child-like.

Ruby/Sapphire

May wears a red bandana, and a red miniskirt with black shorts underneath. She also wears short, black socks and red sneakers.

Emerald

May's appearance in Emerald is similar to Ruby and Sapphire, except her bandana is now green and her miniskirt is now sleeveless. May's structure also seems slightly more slim and feminine.

OR/AS

May wears a sleeveless red tanktop, with a black bra underneath. She wears black and white shorts, a red bow in her hair, and yellow sneakers. She also no longer has socks. May's structure seems much more slim and feminine compared to the other 3 games, but still seems child-like.

OR/AS Contest
