An Event Item is an item obtained in the Pokémon games by special means, usually through a giveaway from Nintendo or through Pokémon related events. Event items are used to unlock hidden features in the game that allow players to capture mythical Pokémon and Legendaries normally unobtainable through normal gameplay.

MysticTicket[]
The MysticTicket is an item in Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen and Pokémon Emerald to get to Lugia and Ho-Oh on Navel Rock.
AuroraTicket[]
The AuroraTicket is an item in Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen and Pokémon Emerald to get to Deoxys on Birth Island.
Old Sea Map[]

The Old Sea Map is an event item in Pokémon Emerald to get to Mew on Faraway Island.
Oak's Letter[]

Oak's Letter is an event item in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, to get Shaymin on Flower Paradise. It has already been released. There is one other way to get Shaymin on Platinum with an a.r. To get Shaymin with an a.r., get the "Oak's Letter" and go to Route 224 and talk to professor. Engrave on the stone who you would like to thank the most and the screen will flash white and a Shaymin will appear, then it will run away down Seabreak Path. When you follow it, it may seem like Seabreak Path is endless but it ends in flower paradise where you catch Shaymin.
Azure Flute[]

The Azure Flute is an event item in Pokemon Diamond and Pearl to get Arceus in the Hall of Origin. There is also a cheat to get the Azure Flute with an Action Replay to get Arceus, go to the Spear Pillar, it will say "The Azure Flute is echoing, would you like to play a song?" If you say yes it will play the first couple of notes of the theme song, and a stairway will open up that goes directly up to the "Hall of Origin" and Arceus will approach you to battle you.
Liberty Pass[]

The Liberty Pass is an event item in Pokémon Black and White, which allows you to get Victini on Liberty Island.
