Light Ball is a held item that doubles the Attack and Special Attack Stat when held by a Pikachu. If a female Pikachu or Raichu is bred while holding a Light Ball, the Pichu born will learn Volt Tackle.
Ways to Obtain[]
The Light Ball has been in existence since its arrival in Generation II and available in each Generation since.
Generation II[]
In Generation II, the only way to obtain the Light Ball was to trade a Pikachu from Pokemon Yellow to either one of the Gold, Silver or Crystal games.
Generation III[]
In the games Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed and LeafGreen, the item can be found on Wild Pikachu with a 5% chance.
Generation IV and V[]
In the Generation IV games, the chance remains at 5% on a Wild Pikachu. These games include Diamond/Pearl/Platinum, HeartGold/SoulSilver.
A female Pikachu holding a Light Ball in Pokémon Battle Revolution is one of the Mystery Gift gifts. It may also be found in the PokéWalker track Yellow Forest after 7000 steps.
Generation V[]
In the Generation V games, the item was originally found with a 1% chance on Wild Pikachu. This 1% was later increased to 5% in the Black and White 2.
