Ground is one of the types related to Pokémon and moves. Ground-type Pokémon are generally affiliated with earth and mud. This type is often paired with the Rock type, which makes for a combination that's especially weak to Water, Ice, and Grass-type moves. Ground has been paired with every other type except for Fighting and Fairy.
Prior to Generation VI, all Ground-type attacks were considered physical.
