Grotle (Japanese: ハヤシガメ Hayashigame) is the Grass-type Starter Pokémon of the Sinnoh region, evolved from Turtwig. Its special ability is Overgrow. It lives in the forest. They come out of the forest to sunbathe the trees on their backs.

Etymology[]

Grotle probably got its name from "Ground" and "Turtle", or alternatively, Grotto, and Turtle.

Evolution[]

Grotle is the evolved form of Turtwig as of level 18. Grotle evolves into Torterra once it reaches level 32.
