The ??? type is a type used for only one move, Curse. It is also a glitch type. There are, as of yet, no official Pokémon with this type, but all Glitch Pokemon have this type.
Players have found that there is, indeed, a ??? typing code and sprite for Arceus in the Generation IV games. Nobody is 100% sure of the cause for this yet, but some players have suggested that Game Freak put that coding there to keep the game from glitching, in case Arceus somehow became the ??? type through the use of cheating devices.
