Weather affecting abilities

These abilities change the weather, or limit the effectiveness of weather changes.

Air Lock[edit | edit source]

Changes in the weather (either natural or induced by the moves Rain Dance, Sunny Day, Hail or Sandstorm) do not affect this Pokémon. Any of the weather-changing attacks attempted while this Pokémon is in battle will fail. The abilities Chlorophyll and Swift Swim will not work while this Pokémon is in battle. Has the same effect as the ability Cloud Nine.

Cloud Nine[edit | edit source]

Effects of the weather (either natural or induced by the moves Rain Dance, Sunny Day, Hail or Sandstorm) do not affect this Pokémon. Any of the weather-changing attacks attempted while this Pokémon is in battle will fail. The abilities Chlorophyll and Swift Swim will not work while this Pokémon is in battle. Compare to Air Lock.

Drizzle[edit | edit source]

When the Pokémon enters battle, it will begin to rain, as if the move Rain Dance has been used. Compare to Drought, Sand Stream, and Snow Warning. The rain will last until the weather is changed by a move or ability.

Drought[edit | edit source]

When the Pokémon enters battle, the sunlight becomes harsh, as if the move Sunny Day has been used. Compare to Drizzle, Sand Stream, and Snow Warning. The sunlight will last until the weather is changed by a move or ability.

Sand Stream[edit | edit source]

When the Pokémon enters battle, a Sandstorm will brew, as if the move Sandstorm has been used. Compare to Drizzle, Drought, and Snow Warning. The sandstorm will last until the weather is changed by a move or ability.

Snow Warning[edit | edit source]

When the Pokémon enters battle, it will begin to hail, as if the move Hail has been used. Compare to Drizzle, Drought, and Sand Stream. The hail will last until the weather is changed by a move or ability.
