Striaton City is a small urban city in Unova. To the east of the city lies the Dreamyard, an abandoned factory site. In the western part of the town is a public garden leading to Route 3. In this city you'll find the region's first Gym, with the Gym Leader dependent on which starter Pokémon you choose. Professor Juniper's friend, Fennel, researches Pokémon inside the lab here. Tips for beginner trainers are abundant in the Pokémon Trainers' School, which is to the left of the Pokémon Center.
The Gym Leader is at the Trainers' School, and you'll need to head there before you can challenge the Gym. After winning at the Gym, Fennel is waiting to show you the laboratory and hands you HM01 Cut. She asks you to head to the Dreamyard, where Munna produce the Dream Mist needed for her research. You'll get the C-Gear and Pal Pad as a reward for doing this. As a result of the successful experiment, from this point on the Dream World and the facilities on the second floor of Pokémon Centers are accessible.
In Pokémon Black 2 and White 2, the Striaton City Gym has been fully converted into a restaurant. Each day, you can team up with one of the old Gym Leaders—Cilan, Cress, or Chili—and fight in a Tag Battle against the other two.

Trivia[]
- Striaton City is named after the informal meteorological term striatons, which refer to a groove or band of clouds encircling an updraft tower, indicative of rotation[1].
- In Pokémon Black 2 and White 2, every night, several Stunfisk will appear in the city, although they cannot be battled.
- Striaton City seems to be based off of Long Island in New York. The map description could be a reference to the glaciers that formed Long Island in real life.
