Gary's Electivire is a Pokémon Gary caught in the Sinnoh region.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Electivire first appeared when Ash returned to Pallet Town after becoming the master of the Battle Frontier. Electivire battled Ash's Pikachu and easily won. It then traveled with Gary back to Sinnoh and was used to help in Gary's studies with Professor Rowan.

Electivire also appeared to help Gary and Ash sabotage Pokemon Hunter J's ship. It's final appearance was when it battled Saturn's Toxicroak alongside Gary's Umbreon. Toxicroak superior speed and power allowed it to defeat both Electivire and Umbreon, a remarkable feat considering they were among Gary's most powerful Pokemon.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • During Electivire's battle with Ash's Pikachu, it blocked all of Pikachu's Electric attacks instead of allowing them to hit. This suggests that Gary was unaware of Electivire's Motor Drive ability. However since the release of Pokemon Black and White, Electivire can have Vital Spirit, which is its Hidden Ability, and considering the fact that Gary is very knowledgeable about Pokemon, even before he became a Pokemon Researcher, it is more likely that Electivire actually has Vital Spirit as its Ability, despite the fact that Electivire's first appearance in the anime happened long before the release of Black and White.
