Porter (Japanese: パーカー Parker) is a recurring character in the Pokémon: BW Adventures in Unova and Beyond. He is a guide while aboard any of the ships going through the Decolore Islands. Similar to Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny, there are many guides on this various ships that all look alike and are named Porter.
History[]
The first appearance of Porter was in Farewell, Unova! Setting Sail for New Adventures!, where he is first seen taking tickets at the dock at the Nuvema Town harbor. When Ash, Iris, and Cilan first approach Porter with their tickets, he informs them that they do not have the required ticket to aboard this cruiseship. This was due to Team Rocket mixing up Professor Juniper's tickets earlier in the episode. After finally getting the right tickets, Porter allows them to board the ship. He then explains that he is there to help the passengers on the ship with anything they need and revealed to them his name: Porter.
In the following episode, Danger, Sweet as Honey!, Porter is briefly seen at the start of the episode explaining the first stop on their way to the Kanto region: Honey Island. He explains to Ash, Iris, and Cilan that the honey on that island is world famous due to the delicious treats you can eat there. The three of them became excited to hear the news and wanted to stop there, but then make a realization that if they got off the ship may leave without them. Porter reassures them that they can get the next boat that arrives and can go enjoy the honey-filled treats on the island. Later in the episode Porter is seen saying how he should have warned them about the Beedrill that roam the forests of the island, ironically after Ash and his friends encountered a swarm of them.
The third appearance of Porter is seen in Cilan and the Case of the Purrloin Witness!. At the start of the episode, Ash, Iris, and Cilan board the ship and begin to set sail from Honey Island when they run into Porter who explains there is a Pokémon battle tournament that could occupy their time until their arrival at the next island. They were confused to see Porter there as they thought he was on the ship they were on previously. Porter then explains that the Porter they saw was his cousin. Iris makes the connection that it is similar to how Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny have relatives throughout the world who look the same and have the same name. Throughout the episode, Porter is helping a woman named Mrs. Ripple try to find her Purrloin as well as trying to find the Eye of Liepard, a gem owned by Mrs. Ripple, that was stolen by somebody aboard the ship.
