Luana (Japanese: ルリコRuriko) is the Gym Leader of the Kumquat Island Gym from the Orange Islands. In order to obtain the Jade Star Badge, Trainers must defeat the Gym Leader in a double battle. This is the final badge of four obtained by Ash in the Orange Islands League. She has a son that looks like Ash and also has a Pikachu, and because of this she confuses him with her son when they first met.

Alakazam is one of Luana's main pokemon. She used it to battle the Rhydon Robot and destroyed it. It was also used in her Gym Battle with Ash.
