Team Plasma and the Awakening Ceremony! (プラスマ団襲撃!復活の儀式!!Plasma-dan Attacks! Ceremony of Revival!!) is the 780th episode of the Pokémon anime series. In this episode, Ash and his friends are trying to stop Team Plasma from achieving their goals.

Episode Summary[]

The episode begins with a short recap of the recent happenings in the previous episode where Team Plasma attacks the White Ruins where Cedric Juniper recently discovered the Light Stone, which contains the legendary Pokémon, Reshiram. Due to Ash and N being trapped underground, Iris and Cilan try to keep Team Plasma away from them using their Dragonite and Crustle, respectively. However, due to being outnumbered by Team Plasma's Pokémon and the Pokémon under their control by use of Colress' machine, they were losing the battle. In an attempt to save time, Crustle used Rock Slide in front of the oncoming Pokémon and Dragonite used Ice Beam on the rocks to make a barrier. Upon seeing this, Colress was ordered to use his machine on their Pokémon as well, resulting in Cilan and Iris recalling their Pokémon and being caught by Team Plasma as well.

Underground, Ash and N began trying to find a way out of where they were stuck, and upon not finding a way began trying to dig their way out. Ash called upon his other Pokémon to help out. While they were working on digging their way out, N began noticing an even stronger bond between Ash and his Pokémon than he originally thought up until now, leading N to help Ash who was also digging alongside his Pokémon. After getting out of the ground, Ash, his Pokémon, and N were greeted by the force of Team Plasma. When Ash was battling with all six of his Pokémon, N noticed that it wasn't just Ash who was so close to his Pokémon but that they too are really bonded with him and his other Pokémon.

Ash was battling well against the force of Team Plasma, but yet again, Colress was told to use his machine on Ash's Pokémon. As quick as he could, Ash recalled all of his Pokémon, except for one, Pikachu (since it hates being inside it's Poké Ball). Looker, who was trying to hide himself until the rest of the International Police Force arrived, tried to stop Colress from using his machine, but was caught by Team Plasma. Ash tried to get to Pikachu, but did not make it there in time, resulting in Pikachu being in control of Team Plasma. Pikachu began to attack Iris, Cilan, and Cedric Juniper, none of who could defend themselves as they were tied up, but were able to run away. It was then that Ash tried to reconnect his bond with Pikachu which resulted in Pikachu using a strong Thunderbolt on him. Cilan and Iris pleaded with Ash to be careful because getting hit by Pikachu's attacks right now could become very dangerous. Ash, ignoring the two of them, continued to walk towards Pikachu which resulted in another Thunderbolt being direct at Ash. This final attack on Ash caused N to make a deal with Team Plasma: if they released their control over Pikachu, N would give himself over to Team Plasma along with the Light Stone. Team Plasma agreed to this deal and released control of Pikachu and captured N and the Light Stone.

Upon successfully capturing N and the Light Stone, Ghetsis appeared by plane. Aldith and Barett gave Ghetsis the Light Stone and N and Ghetsis went over to a specific area of the White Ruins to begin the ceremony of bringing Reshriam out of the Light Stone. N begged Reshiram to stay in the Light Stone, however it continued the process anyways. During this process, Ash awakens (after being unconscious from Pikachu's Thunderbolt), along with Pikachu (who was exhausted), and tried to reach N and the Light Stone. The episode ends with Team Rocket trying to get closer to the Light Stone as well.

  • When Ash is recalling his Pokémon in attempt to avoid Colress' machine, there is one scene where the Poké Ball symbol on his hat appears to be smaller than normal.
