Episode Plot[edit | edit source]

While waiting for Clay to return Ash and co. run into Cilan's brother Chili, who's apparently on a journey of his own. Turns out he wants to be better than his brother after always losing so he decides to pit his skills against Cilan. Who will win this sibling rivalry? And can Cress be a good Gym Leader by himself?

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • There was a moment from when Chili's Pansear was training and after that he runs up some stairs, though that moment has been done before in the movie "Rocky" and various cartoons that had training montages like Animaniacs, The Proud Family and Two Stupid Dogs.
  • Some similarities to the Rocky training montage comes when Pansear, runs, does one-armed push-ups, sit-ups on a bench, and punches a fruit in the tree
  • The dubbed title originated from Pennsylvania, known as the State of Brotherly Love, which was the setting of the Rocky movie that took place in Philadelphia which is located in Pennsylvania.
  • This is the very first time that Ash was a referee when the brothers battle.
Training scene, Pansear paying homage to Rocky
  • Professor Oak's Live Caster: Movie 15
  • Who's That Pokémon?: Pansear.
  • When Chili was eating donuts to relieve his stress this might be a reference to girls on classic television shows getting upset and eating desserts.
  • When Chili got a red and glowing face in Cress' flashback this might be a reference to Ash's anger in The Bicker the Better.
  • When a still picture of Chili hugging his Pansear while his laughing and Pansear gleefully squeeling can be heard, this might be a reference to Sweet Baby James when there was still picture of James hugging Chimecho followed by James' laughing and Chimecho's "chiming" during the song Best Friends.
