Design origins[]

Carbink is based off of the carbuncle, a mythical creature from Latin America known for the gemstone growing from its head, usually a carbuncle, hence the name.

Etymology[]

Carbink's name is based off the words carbuncle, carbon, an element found in diamonds, and tink, which means to tinkle.
