Bronzong (Japanese: ドータクン Dohtakun) is a Steel/Psychic-type Pokémon. One of these Pokémon caused a news sensation when it was dug up at a construction site after a 2000-year sleep.

Revered as a bringer of rain by people thousands of years ago, this Pokémon is said to have summoned rain clouds by opening portals to another world. For this reason, it was revered as the bringer of plentiful harvests.

Bronzong natural abilities making Bronzong only have one type disadvantage, Levitate make Bronzong cannot be hit with ground type moves, and it's abilities Heatproof make fire type moves will be halved.

Bronzong is the evolved form of Bronzor as of level 33.

Origin[]

Bronzong resembles (and is likely based off of) an ancient Chinese instrument called the Bianzhong, which consists of several large bronze bells. It's name also seems to come from the words "bronze", as it is what most bells are made of, and "Gong", as they act similiar to bells.
