The Blue Orb is an key item that controls Kyogre.
In the Anime[]
In the anime, there are 2 episodes that feature the Blue Orb. There is an error that states that the Blue Orb controls Groudon instead of Kyogre, however. The orb is fused with Ash's Pikachu and whenever it uses an Electric-type move, the lines on Groudon's head appear on Ash's Pikachu's head, and the move is much stronger.
In the Games[]
In the Hoenn Generation III games, the Blue Orb appears and controls Kyogre in Pokémon Sapphire, which Maxie attempts to use to control Groudon, but fails.
